Wei Wei McKercher
Wei Wei graduated from Beijing Dance Academy (Classical, Contemporary, Acrobatic and Folk Dance) and in 2003 from the Victorian College of Arts with the reward for the Most Outstanding Achievement. Wei Wei has appeared in Tivoli with the Sydney Dance Company, Wild Swans with The Australian Ballet before joining The Austrian production of The Lion King.
In 2008 Wei Wei made her West End debut with The Lion King. With the guidance from Ian White Management, the vocal training with Rosie Harris, and the speech/acting training with Suzanne Haywood, Wei Wei has earned a number of stage credits including The Temptress in Turandot and Dance Ensemble in Greame Murphy’s production of Aida, both with Opera Australia, Trixie in Christmas in Lazy Town, Chess with The Production Company. In 2013 Wei Wei returned to the Australian Touring Production of The Lion King as the Female Dance Captain.
She pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Classical Ballet Teaching in 2006, and also holds a Postgraduate Diploma of Education.
Wei Wei first taught with the Melbourne School of Classical Dance in 2007 and is so pleased to have retuned to our faculty.
