Olivia Heyworth

Associate Director – Junior School

Olivia’s professional training began at Marie Walton Mahon Dance Academy where she successfully completed her exams in the RAD syllabus. Her full-time training began at National College of Dance where she was awarded multiple scholarships, received the award of Dux, achieved a Certificate III, IV and Diploma in Dance Performance. She also gained professional level performance experience and competed nationally and internationally in competitions including RAD’s Genee Awards (Singapore) and Youth America Grand Prix (New York). Whilst in America Olivia was offered a position in Miami City Ballet’s Finishing Year Program where she studied Balanchine and Bourneville styled techniques.

Upon returning to Australia Olivia continued her training at WAAPA where she gained immeasurable performance experience across a diverse range of styles. She was able to work closely with national and international choreographers, acclaimed teachers and lecturers from whom she gained a vast wealth of knowledge, understanding and artistry on which she expands on to this day.
Whilst at WAAPA Olivia was exposed to many opportunities including international workshops, choreographic experience, professional level performance experience, secondments with major Australian companies, and performances by international visiting artists. She graduated again as Dux of her class with an Advanced Diploma in Dance.

Olivia is also currently working with Dancebourne Arts, A collective dance company focused on promoting knowledge and art through classical and contemporary dance.

Olivia has continued to build on her knowledge and passion, taking part in international workshops with acclaimed artists from all over the world and is now focusing her enthusiasm for dance by sharing her passion and knowledge to future stars of dance. 

As a qualified teacher of the ACB Syllabus through all levels, and with outstanding exam results from our students in 2017, Olivia was appointed Head of the Junior School and is now Associate Director – Junior School.  Olivia leads the Pre-Ballet and Preparatory Ballet Divisions ensuring consistency in the delivery of our training methods and development of your child’s classical dance future.
